Fur coats: historic, unusual and warm
People have been wearing fur clothing for centuries and it has always been a sign of prosperity and wealth. Even today, this view has not changed. But if we ignore the prestige and reputation that furs bring with them, we are still left with an extremely impressive item of clothing that keeps you very warm and looks exceptional.
The most important types of fur
As the investment in a fur coat is often a one-off or at least very rare, you should familiarize yourself with the different types of fur before buying and decide for yourself which fur coat is most suitable.
Mink fur:
Mink belong to the marten family and are mainly bred in their millions in Denmark for the production of fur coats. Mink fur is very soft, water-repellent and at the same time keeps you exceptionally warm. It comes in either dark or light colors. We have a handful of used mink coats for you to choose from in our store.
Sable:
Compared to minks, sables are real martens, which makes their fur extremely rare and at the same time very valuable and expensive. Due to the different colors of the animals, the coat can also have different shades after production, ranging from light to dark. If you decide to buy a second-hand sable fur coat, you should budget for at least €6000 or more.
Rabbit fur:
As the name suggests, rabbit fur comes from rabbits. The fur of the so-called Rex rabbit, which has softer and shorter fur than normal rabbits, is particularly popular. As rabbits differ greatly in their fur color and patterns, many furs also shine in different tones and shades.
Fox fur:
Caution is advised when buying a used fox fur coat! As the animals occur in a wide variety of species worldwide, the quality can vary greatly. Therefore, when buying, make sure that the coat has been produced or originated in Europe. Red fox fur coats, which have a slightly reddish sheen and long hair, are particularly popular. Fox furs are also among the cheaper fur coats.
The be-all and end-all: the right brand for fur coats
There are big differences between the quality and longevity of used fur coats. Even in a market as specialized as this one, there are unfortunately many cheap brands that do not take soft fur or high-quality workmanship into account. We strongly advise you to stay away from such brands, as these fur coats only give half as much pleasure and give up the ghost more quickly.
But now the good news for you: all used fur coats in our range come from absolute designer and quality brands that have been committed to producing high-quality fur coats for years.
For example, you will find mink coats from Christian Dior, sable coats from Slupinski and rabbit coats from Philipp Plein. There are also other brands such as Jan, Pelz Neugebauer, Patrizia Pepe, Kopenhagen Fur, Bisang Couture, Skinn Wille and Hermès. So there should be a used fur coat for every fur lover.
Prices of used fur coats
Depending on the brand and the fur chosen, the prices of used fur coats can vary greatly. In our online store you will find prices ranging from €650 to €12,000. The aforementioned sable coats quickly drive up the price, while mink coats are a much more affordable choice depending on the brand.
